AI-Powered Climate Transparency Assistant
Client and Business Goals
Our client set out to bridge the gap between complex climate targets and public understanding. With the growing wave of corporate net-zero commitments, the client’s goal was to empower users – including journalists, researchers, investors, and policymakers – with instant, accurate insights into these pledges. The vision was to create a public-facing AI assistant that could simplify net-zero discourse and drive climate accountability.
The Challenge
Climate targets are full of nuance – varying in emissions scopes, timelines, offset strategies, and definitions of “net zero.” Traditional search engines and AI models struggle to provide authoritative, up-to-date answers tailored to this context. The challenge was to build a conversational tool that is:
Domain-specific to climate policy and emissions reporting
Accurate and sourced with real-world data
Accessible to non-experts without sacrificing technical detail
The Solution
We developed ChatNetZero, a specialized AI chatbot trained on climate-specific datasets, including Scope 1-3 emissions, SBTi-aligned goals, and corporate net-zero disclosures. The platform features an intuitive conversational interface that empowers users to ask questions like “Does Walmart include Scope 3 in its net-zero pledge?” and receive fact-based, contextual answers.
The project launched successfully with strong user feedback, and was publicly presented during New York Climate Week, where it received positive recognition for both its interface clarity and impact. As our client James noted:
