Our client wanted us to develop a mobile app aimed at the German and Polish markets. Their vision was clear: to create an app that offers users honest and substantial reviews of theatre plays, helping them avoid wasting time on subpar performances. The app would provide opinions from professional theatre critics, articulated in simple and understandable language. Users could filter plays by genre, time, or complexity, ensuring they find exactly what they’re looking for without the hassle of extensive searches. The ultimate business goal was to enhance the theatre-going experience and establish a reliable platform that users could trust for unbiased reviews.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was the lack of project specifications. The client had a strong concept but needed a comprehensive solution from scratch. Additionally, the app had to be multilingual, catering to both German and Polish audiences, which required meticulous attention to language-specific nuances and user interface adjustments. Ensuring the app was intuitive, user-friendly, and could handle the complexity of filtering plays based on various criteria was also a significant challenge. Moreover, the reviews had to be displayed in a manner that was both engaging and easy to read, avoiding advertising clichés while providing substantial insights.

To address these challenges, we embarked on a structured development process.

Design and Prototyping: Our design team created wireframes and prototypes from scratch, ensuring the user interface was clean, intuitive, and adaptable to both languages. We incorporated user-centric design principles to facilitate easy navigation and quick access to filtered content.
Development: We utilized a robust tech stack to develop a scalable and responsive mobile app. Key features included:

The project lasted from December to April. All stages of the app development from prototype to uploading to platforms – Google Play and App Store – were completed. There were several rounds of revisions and closed testing.
